ECHOVERSE.

Hello, fruitcake! I am echo. Welcome to my universe. Interested in some exposition or navigation?   THIS WILL DO.

Be Like Mike (and Mags for that matter)

Good eve, fruitcake (or cakes). Something terrible happened to me today; there were no deaths involved nor were there any injuries. I just had a horrible day, starting with the humidity and a visit from the Karma Police. The KP decided to brain me a few times, presumably as punishment for a past misdeed or two. Here is a little story about it.

Hammond was going to take Mom's car to work with her. Knowing that I may wish to drive somewhere during the day — the grocery store, perhaps — I thought I'd give her a ride instead.
About a minute away from dropping her off, I said, "Hey, do you feel that? Do you hear that?" It was an oh-so-wonderful feeling accompanied by noises that happen when you get a flat tire. I wasn't my best, but did manage to get us to Hammond's place of employment.
As she furiously stormed toward the building, she exclaimed that we had nobody to help us in such situations. NOBODY! What to do? I immediately thought of my best friend. So I did what I almost never ever do: I called Magdalena. On the phone. (Holds for applause.)

I'm not a well woman. The sun was blazing in the sky, light and heat completely eating up the blacktop and beaming rays everywhere. That made me uncomfortable in a pale skin way. The humidity made me uncomfortable in a Fibro Gal way. Changing the tire myself was out of the question. Damn. I was a damsel in distress.

Mags was at work and unable to do it herself, yet she was able to immediately locate someone who could *and* dispatch him to the scene. His name is Mike. Let's all give this dude a round of applause for he had never met me before coming to change the flat tire. Furthermore, he's on vacation this week. So he could have said no for a variety of reasons but chose to help me out. He's a good samaritan. And let's raise a glass to Mags for her part in getting me off that mountain and back on the road. All in just about an hour!

The two Ms scored some good karma today. When was the last time you did? I know I need to pay a lot more toward my karma debt. I should be more like Mike and Mags.

What else? I pledge to address the "stay at home friend" business on another tomorrow...

cheers,
echo
